Blue skies, golden fields and sunflowers as far as the eye can see—a beautiful little piece of Ukraine, painted by our friend Anna Karas! 🇺🇦🌻☀️

Two graceful storks glide across a brilliant blue sky, their broad black-and-white wings stretched above the countryside. Soft white clouds drift behind them, while golden fields glow beneath their bright red beaks and trailing legs. 💙💛🎨

In the foreground, a cheerful crowd of sunflowers turns this peaceful landscape into a celebration of summer. Rich green leaves, golden petals and a distant tree line give the scene warmth, depth and that lovely feeling of wide-open countryside. 🌻🌿✨

The blue sky and yellow fields echo Ukraine’s national colours beautifully. You can almost imagine the gentle breeze, the warm sunshine and the quiet of a summer afternoon. A bright, hopeful view of the Ukraine we know and love. 🇺🇦☀️🏡

👩🎨❤️ Meet Anna — a friend from the very beginning

Anna Karas is a very talented artist who has supported Ukraine UK Aid since our earliest days. We’ve met her personally and had the pleasure of meeting the entire Karas family during one of our aid missions to Ukraine. 🤝🇺🇦

Her work has a special place in our own home too—our founder, Elliott, owns many of her paintings. Sharing her art through the store means sharing a little of that friendship, alongside the creativity and generosity that have helped keep our work going. 🏡🎨💙💛

✍️💌 The handwritten label on the back

The Ukrainian label gives the title “Лелеки”—“Storks”—and identifies Anna Karas, aged 30, from Stanishivka. A personal link to the artist behind this sunny Ukrainian landscape. 🌻❤️
