Beautiful Handmade Canvas painting

This is rather special. The young student who painted this, comes from a Middle School in the town of Ulaniv. This is the home town of our friend Nick Fomin, and in fact he was educated in this same school.

We are building relations between this school and another school in the UK, and as part of this friendship, some of the students donated to us, paintings to take home and sell. 

This is one such painting. It depicts a young and very sad Ukrainian woman wearing the traditional dress of Ukraine. Above her head, Storks fly, and she is surrounded by poppies, and it is painted in the style of Petrykivka painting. Almost, but not quite unseen, in the middle of the painting is a small scene of three Ukrainian soldiers holding the flag of Ukraine. One can almost imagine the sadness of the woman as she looks down on the warfare that is ravaging her beautiful country.

This picture measures 50cm X 40cm. Shown is a picture of us receiving the picture from her during out last mission in April 2025.

Her Father is currently fighting on the front line, and she has barely seen him in the past three years.
