Homemade Dried Borscht Mixture

We often speak of the Ladies who endlessly weave the camouflage netting that saves the lives of the brave defenders of Ukraine, but today, I want to talk about another set of volunteers who work tirelessly to help and support the troops on the Zero-line.

When in position, there are many things a soldier needs, but the biggest boost to the morale is a warm meal and most importantly one that reminds them of what they are fighting for.

Borscht is the very essence of Ukraine, one of the first tastes a person experiences on a trip to Ukraine!For those who have already tasted it, it feels like home, each recipe unique yet, somehow the same.For those of you who have never tried it before, we are offering you a very unique opportunity to try Borscht as a front line soldier would experience it.

These soup pouches are made by an army of dedicated ladies from the Ivankiv region. Every ingredient is grown from someone’s garden, harvested, cut, dried and packaged by hand. The only thing store bought is the tomato concentrate!

One pouch will make around 2L of delicious soup, to which all you need to add is a choice of meat and some potato! Of course Pork is the only choice here!

We were kindly donated two pouches from Olena on our last trip in October, and the idea is to turn one pouch into many!

The Unit cost of one soup pouch is around £5, and we are selling each punch for £50, the idea being that one turns into 10!

We have also setup a donation amount of £5 if you would like to fund the making of one pouch!

This is a wonderful way to help these Ladies to continue to help feel the guys on the front, give them a taste of home and show your support for the struggle to rid Ukraine of the evil invaders.
