This is a Composite armour keyring from a ruzzian T-72B3M.
We were kindly gifted a limited number of these key rings from our friend in the USA. He had seen the work that we have done in Ukraine and wanted to help both us and Ukraine. He has been making the most spectacular items from artefacts of the War in Ukraine. All these items are from real ruzzian tanks, destroyed during the full-scale invasion. They are sent to the US where our friend works his magic and turns them into very unique and evocative items.
So, what is it, I hear you ask! I am sure you are familiar with the images of burnt out ruzzian tanks from the TV footage coming out of Ukraine. I myself have seen these tanks with my own eyes and often wondered what these awkward looking boxes are, mounted on the hull and turret of these tanks. Those boxes are called Explosive Reactive Armour (ERA) a form of dynamic protection. It is designed to supplement the base armour of a tank, against specific types of rounds fired. This is a very complex technology, and far too involved to discuss in detail here, but if you are interested, please message us, we are happy to explain in greater detail. But essentially ERA by exploding outward when hit by a projectile, this explosion reduces a projectiles ability to damage the vehicle. This effect is achieved by using a combination of explosives, steel armour, and sometimes rare ERA blocks composite armour plates. These keychains are made from that rarer composite. Often referred to as “Textolite”, the plates these keychains were made from were recovered recently from a destroyed ruzzian tank near Kharkiv in 2022.
Each piece is laser etched with the exact GPS coordinates of the tank’s location, along with an image of a T-72B3M, and details of the material. This is your chance to own a very unique and interesting piece of history. These key rings are the only known examples of souvenirs that have been made with composite armour. While steel items are common the composites are far rarer and is incredibly difficult to recover as the composites often do not survive the destruction of the vehicle given ERA boxes with the composite plates are surrounded by explosive material. When a box is located, the explosives are removed for use with FPV drones and then the composite plates can be removed. This keyring is completely safe and legal to own. All residue has been cleaned from it, so you won’t have any problems with Airport security! Own this unique and wonderful item today, available in very limited numbers from our store. All proceeds from the sale of this item go back to Ukraine to help the Armed Forces of Ukraine in their struggle for freedom and survival.
