A worn patch from the 81st Separate Airmobile Brigade "Slobozhanske", an elite unit within the Ukrainian Air Assault Forces. 

About the 81st Airmobile Brigade.

Establishment: The brigade was formed in October 2014 during the early stages of the War in Donbas, initially created from elements of the 25th Airborne Brigade.

Key Operations:

Donetsk Airport: The unit received its "baptism by fire" during the intense defense of the Donetsk Airport in late 2014 and early 2015.

2022 Russian Invasion: The brigade has been heavily involved in major battles, including the defense of Sloviansk and the liberation of Lyman in September 2022.

Bases: The unit is primarily based in the Donetsk and Poltava regions, including cities like Kramatorsk, Druzhkivka, and Poltava. 

Patch Symbolism and Design

The insignia features specific heraldic elements:

A Rampant Griffin: A stylized silver/grey griffin is the central figure, symbolizing strength and vigilance.

A Golden Sword: The griffin holds a sword aloft in its right claw, representing combat readiness.

The Shield Field: The background is a shield diagonally divided between royal blue (upper right) and deep maroon (lower left).
